본 연구는 국내 터너증후군 여아와 일반 또래의 심리사회적 적응 특성을 비교하고 국외 선행 연구들과 일관된 결과를 보이는지 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 서울 지역 1개 종합병원에서 모집한 10~18세의 터너증후군 여아 36명과 부모, 연령과 성별을 짝지은 36명의 일반 또래와 부모를 대상으로 K-CBCL, 자아개념 척도(SCI), 우울 척도(CDI), 불안 척도(RCMAS), 삶의 질 척도(PedsQL(TM) 4.0)를 실시하였다. 그 결과 터너증후군 집단이 일반 또래 집단에 비해 총문제행동, 내재화 문제, 사회적 미성숙, 사고, 주의집중에서 높은 수준의 문제행동을 보이는 것으로 나타났으며, 우울 수준 또한 유의미하게 높았다. 또한 터너증후군 중고등학생 집단의 자아개념 수준이 일반또래 집단에 비해 유의미하게 낮았으며, 지각하는 삶의 질 또한 낮은 수준을 보고하였다. 이러한 결과들을 바탕으로 국외 선행 연구들과 일관되는 결과를 확인하였고, 터너증후군 여아의 연령대별 심리적 특성 차이와 부모보고 및 아동보고 간 차이에 대한 시사점을 비롯한 본 연구의 의의와 제한점을 논의하였다.

This study examined the psychosocial characteristics of Korean girls with Turner Syndrome(TS) compared with those of age-matched, healthy control group. 36 girls with TS aged from 10 to 18 years and their parents were recruited. Also, 36 age-matched healthy girls and their parents participated in the study for the control group. Participants completed the Korean-Child Behavior Checklist(K-CBCL), Self Concept Inventory(SCI), Children`s Depression Inventory(CDI), the Revised Children`s Manifest Anxiety Scale (RCMAS), and Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory(TM) Version 4.0(PedsQL(TM) 4.0). Girls with TS reported more total behavior problems, internalizing behavior problems, immaturity, thought problems, and inattention than the control group. Also, significantly more severe depression, lower self-concept and quality of life were reported by girls with TS. Meanwhile, no significant difference in anxiety between girls with TS and the healthy control was found. The results of the study support previous studies. In addition, implications and limitations of the study are discussed.
