이 연구의 목적은 고려대학교와 연세대학교 두 사학의 정기 스포츠대전인 고연전에 비춰진 그들만의 집합행동을 이해하는데 있다. 고연전에 비춰진 그들만의 집합행동을 이해하고자 질적 연구의 지적전통중 하나인 사례연구를 사용하였다. 매년 9월에 열리는 고려대학교와 연세대학교간의 스포츠대전인 정기고연전 행사를 연구환경으로 설정하였다. 참여관찰, 심층면담을 통해 자료를 수집하였으며, 전사, 주제별 약호화, 주제 및 의미 생성 단계를 통한 텍스트분석을 실시하였다. 고연전에 비춰진 집합행동 유형은 Blumer(1951)의 행동적 군중 유형(공격적 폭중ㆍ도피적 폭중ㆍ취득적폭중ㆍ표출적 폭중)에 따라 구명하였다. 고연전에 비춰진 공격적 폭중으로는 상대에 대한 악담, 관람석의자 훼손, 가로수 훼손, 상점 기물 훼손을 들 수 있으며, 도피적 폭중으로는 담 뛰어넘기, 난간 넘어 퇴장, 지하철 승ㆍ하차 시 개찰구 뛰어넘기 행위가 있다. 취득적 폭중으로는 유니폼 쟁취, 공짜 술 강요, 가게 물품 약탈 행위를 들 수 있으며, 표출적 폭중으로는 응원도구 투척, 종이비행기 날리기, 지하철내 말뚝박기 놀이, 기차놀이, 길거리에서 술 먹기, 길거리 FM신고식 행위가 있다. 집합행동의 특성으로는 집단이 산출하는 집단주의에 의한 익명성과 책임분산, 소속대학교에 대한 깊은 호감, 이미 설정된 대규모 양극화 집단, 현재적 전염과 학습된 전염을 들 수 있다.
The purpose of this study was to understand the collective behavior that was expressed on `Ko-Yon-Jun`. The `Ko-Yon-Jun` was intercollegiate sports match between Korea university and Yonsei university. I used case study, a method of qualitative research, in order to analyze. The background of this study was `Ko-Yon-Jun` supposed to be held every september. Data was collected by participant observation and interview. The collected data was used into textual analysis through the step of transcription, coding, and the creation of subject. Types of collective behavior have been explained according to active crowds type(aggressive modㆍescape modㆍacquisitive modㆍexpressive mod) of Blumer(1951). Aggressive mod expressed in `Ko-Yon-Jun` was curse at opponent, damaging chairs on the stand, damaging trees on the street, damaging store goods, Escape mod was climbing over the wall, going over the fence, jumping over a gate in subway. Acquisitive mod was fight to obtain athlete uniform, forcing free drink, plundering. Expressive mod was flying paper airplane, wandering in a row on the street, playing furiously on the subway train, drinking on the street, shouting on the street. The collective behavior characteristics was anonymity from groupism, diversion of responsibility, good feeling for affiliated university, a large scale bipolar group and experiential contagion and manifest contagion.
