연구목적: 본 연구는 실업과 문제음주의 상호작용이 우울에 미치는 영향을 조사하고 성별에 따른 차이를 분석하였다. 연구방법: 2017년 제12차 한국복지패널 데이터 중 19세에서 34세까지 청년층(N=2,173; 남성=998, 여성=1,175)의 고용형태, AUDIT, CES-D 변수를 위계적 중다회귀분석모델을 사용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과: 성별에 따른 실업의 통계적 차이는 없는 반면, 남성이 더 높은 문제음주를, 여성이 더 높은 우울수준을 보고 하였다. 인구사회학적 변수를 통제하였을 때, 남녀 모두 문제음주는 우울을 증가시킨 반면, 실업의 단독효과와 실업과 문제음주의 상호작용이 여성에서만 발견되었다. 결론: 고용상태에 따라 문제음주가 우울에 더 큰 영향을 미치는 상호작용 효과가 여성에서 발견되었다. 음주행동과 우울의 관계에서 고용상태와 성별 차이를 고려해야 할 필요성을 시사한다.

Objective: This study is to investigate gender differences in the interaction effect of unemployment and problematic drinking on depression. Methods: The employment status, AUDIT, and CES-D by gender of the youth group aged 19 to 34(N=2,173; m=998, f=1,175) derived from the 12th Wave data of the Korea Welfare Panel(2017) were analyzed by using hierarchical multiple regression analysis. Results: While there was no statistical gender difference in employment status, there found higher problematic drinking in male and higher level of depression in female. Controlling for the socio-demographic variables, the single effect of unemployment and the interaction effect of unemployment and problematic drinking on depression were found only in female, while problematic drinking increased depression in both genders. Conclusion: The interaction effect of problem drinking on depression depending on employment status was found only in female. It is suggested that employment status and gender difference need to be considered in the relationship between drinking behavior and depression.
