Although lactic acid bacteria have numerous skin-friendly effects, there are a lot of problems, poor solubility, abnormal odor and limits their skin functional potential. In this study, we made tyndallized Lactobacillus rhamnosus IDCC 3201 (RHT3201) using tyndallization (fragmentation technology) to improve its functional potentials. And also we investigated the effects of RHT3201 on antibacterial activity, wrinkle improvement and anti-inflammatory activity for inner beauty. RHT3201 had selective antibacterial activities. It inhibited Escherichia coli and Candida albicans, but didn`t inhibit growth of Lactobacillus acidophilus, same genus microorganism. RHT3201 strongly inhibited lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced expression of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) involved inflammation pathway. Also, it inhibited UV-induced MMP-1 expression in human dermal fibroblast. These findings indicate that RHT3201 has potential for anti-inflammatory activity and wrinkle improvement.
