This study was conducted by the survey of the cabbage seed market of India, Indonesia, and Vietnam with analysis of recent information about production, major market distribution, and leading variety. India is the second largest producer of vegetable. The Indian cabbage cultivation area has steadily increased, and cabbage seed consumption is about 45 to 55 ton. The main cultivation areas are Maharashtra, Nashik, and West Bengal state. And the leading varieties are “Kranti”, “Saint”, “Green Challenger”, and “Summer Queen”. To develop this Indian cabbage market, the favorable weight is about 0.1 to 1kg, and insect resistance is required such as diamondback moth. Indonesia is the world’s fourth-largest population country. Kohlrabi and cabbage show the second largest cultivation area and production after shallot. The favorable shape of cabbage is flat type. Main cultivation states are West Jawa, Central Jawa, East Jawa, and North Sumatra. The leading varieties are “Green Cornet”, “Grand 11”, and “Green Nova”. The most important traits of promising cultivars are greenish-gray color and heat tolerance. The population of Vietnam is two times than that of Korea. And its economic growth rate is above 5.7% in 2011. Cabbage cultivation area is 14,200ha, and seed consumption is 4.3 ton. Northern region accounts for 70% of cabbage production, and main production district is Doan Thuong village. The flat shape is main cabbage type. And Leading varieties are “New Star Cross”, “Grand KK”, and “Green Helmet”.
