Cambodia is an agrarian country and emerges one of major rice export countries in Southeast Asia. Due to the big problem Cambodian farmers faced known as shortage of irrigation to improve their crop productivity, Official Development Assistance (ODA) has focused on making new irrigation systems or rehabilitating them. However, the donor countries have met difficulties in not only adapting to the rapidly changing agricultural circumstances but also managing machinery, selling their products and introducing new field crops due to an asymmetrical information and insufficient agricultural education. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to find a long-term strategy of Korea-Cambodia agricultural cooperation to increase a sustainable agricultural productivity and stable farmer’s income. In company with investing in irrigation systems in order to improve agricultural productivities, Korea-Cambodia agricultural cooperation strengthens the farmers’ training and the reform of agricultural marketing in rural area. To achieve these goals, Korea needs to seek to establish a link between farmers and agricultural research organizations like General Directorate of Agriculture (GDA) and Cambodian Agriculture and Rural Development Institute (CARDI) in Cambodia and support these organizations to educate production technologies and agricultural machinery maintenance for male/ female farmers. The study suggested that Korea should extend its support to improve the marketing channels consisting of processing, distribution and selling and build agricultural processing facilities to help them make a stable income. Moreover, it is important to promote farmers’ groups to manage these facilities and effectively export their products to other countries. In the far-reaching perspective, Korea- Cambodia agricultural cooperation considering these strategies would make a contribution to the development of Cambodia agriculture and amicable relations between Korea and Cambodia.
