본 연구는 유아교육기관에서 이루어지고 있는 자유선택활동에 대하여 알아보기 위하여 유아교육기관 만3, 4, 5세총 50학급에서 한 달간 작성된 일일교육계획안 1000개를 분석하였다. 이를 위하여 실내·외 자유선택활동의 운영여부, 운영시간, 흥미 영역별 활동 빈도 등을 분석하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. (1) 연구대상 유아교육기관중 실내자유선택활동은 88%, 실외자유선택활동은 48%의 기관에서 운영하고 있었다. (2) 실내자유선택활동의 평균 운영 시간은 72.5분, 실외자유선택활동의 평균 운영 시간은 46.67분으로 나타났다. (3) 흥미영역 별 활동 빈도는 언어 영역이 가장 많았으며 수·조작, 미술, 쌓기, 과학, 역할, 음률 영역 순이었다. (4) 자유선택활동의 운영시간과 흥미영역 별 활동 빈도에서 연령별, 발달수준별 차이는 나타나지 않았다.

The purpose of this study was to examine certain aspects of free-choice activities in Kindergarten and Child Care Center. In order to examine the mentioned above, management hours of in-out door free choice activities, and frequency of activities of interest center in 1,000 daily lesson plans written by 50 teachers in charge of 3, 4, 5-year-old classes were analyzed. The results of the analysis were as follows: 1) About 88% of the participants were managed in-door free choice activities, while 48% said they were managed out-door free choice activities. 2) The hours of management were each 72.5 minutes and 46.7minutes in-out door free choice activities. 3) The order of activity frequency in interest center is language, math-manipulative, block, science, role play, and music & movement center. 4) The hours of management and frequency of activities in interest center did not seem to consider children``s age difference and developmental level.
