본 연구의 목적은 유아의 자기조절능력과 공감능력이 대인관계형성능력에 미치는영향을 알아보고, 자기조절능력과 대인관계형성능력 간의 관계에서 공감능력의 매개역할에 대해 알아보는 것이다. 이를 위해 유아교육기관에 다니고 있는 만 5세반 유아를 대상으로 유아 자기조절능력 척도, 대인관계형성능력 척도, 공감능력 척도를 사용하여 검사를 실시하였다. 검사결과 중 불성실하게 응답한 검사를 제외하고 총 323부를 분석하였다. 자료분석은 상관분석과 중다회귀분석을 실시하였으며, 매개효과분석을 위해 Sobel test를 실시하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 유아 자기조절능력과 대인관계형성능력은 높은 정적상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다, 그리고 공감능력과 대인관계형성능력 간에도 유의미한 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 자기조절능력과 공감능력의 하위요인 중 자기점검, 자기통제, 불안 순으로 대인관계형성능력에 미치는 상대적 영향력이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 유아의 공감능력은 자기조절능력과 대인관계형성능력 관계에서 부분매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

This study investigated the effect of self-regulation and empathic ability in young children``s interpersonal competence in forming relationships. The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of young children``s empathic ability on the correlation between their self-regulation and their interpersonal competence in forming relationships. This study targeted 5-year-old children at early childhood education centers in Korea``s Gangwon Province. The children``s self-regulation, interpersonal competence in forming relationships, and empathic ability were measured using early childhood measurement scales. Aafter removing false responses and non-responses from the data. 323 responses were analyzed. The data analysis included correlation analysis and mediating effect analysis. The results were as follows. First, a high positive correlation was found between self-regulation and interpersonal competence in forming relationships. and a significant correlation was also, found between empathic ability and interpersonal competence in forming relationships. Second, young children``s empathic ability appeared to be a mediating variable affecting the correlation between self-regulation and interpersonal competence in forming relationships. Third, young children``s empathic ability was found to have a partial mediating effect on self-regulation and interpersonal competence in forming relationships.
