목적: 본 연구는 치매노인 가족을 통한 주거환경의 특성을 파악하고 주거환경개조에 대한 요구도를 조사하고자 한다. 연구방법: 부산에 거주하는 치매노인 가족 30명을 대상으로 설문조사(일반적 정보, 현재 주거환경에 대한 실태, 주거개조를 위한 가족들의 요구도)를 실시하고 통계 분석 하였다. 연구결과: 거주형태별 주거개조 요구도 비교 시 침실의 문 개폐 형태, 주방의 가스밸브 위치, 욕실의 미끄럼방지 바닥을 제외한 모든 영역에서 통계학적으로 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 주 수발자 별 주거개조 요구도는 현관의 잠금장치 개조, 침실의 문 개폐 형태와 환기시설, 주방의 싱크대와 식탁높이, 욕실의 좌식용 욕조와 수도꼭지 조작형태에 통계학적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다. 결론; 치매노인을 부양하는 가족들을 위한 주거환경 개조가 절실히 요구된다. 그리고 이것은 거주 형태와 주 수발자의 요구도를 반영하여 개조하는 것이 중요하다.

Purpose: This study was designed to investigate the needs and peculiarities of residential modifications of elderly households. Methods: We conducted a questionnaire survey(general information, actual condition of residential environment, needs for modification) and statistical analysis to a total of 30 elderly households in Pusan. Results: There were no statistically significant difference in needs for residential modification except for door opening and closing in bed room, height of gas valve in a kitchen, non slip mat in bathroom. There were statistically significant difference in a door lock, a ventilation facilities, height of a kitchen sink and table, a bathtub, faucet operation type. Conclusion: Residental modifications for care-givers of the elderly with dementia are urgently needed. And We carefully consider the housing types and needs of care-givers.
