中國에서 禪宗이 성립된 이후 독자적인 많은 문헌을 갖게 되면서부터 문학이 활짝 꽃 피웠으며, 이러한 禪 文學의 가장 중요한 분야는 禪詩라고 할 수 있다. 물론 불교의 禪이 印度에서 發源하였듯이 禪詩의 연원도 인도에서 비롯되었음은 물론이다. 그러나 그의 진정한 발전은 역시 중국에 와서 이루어졌음 또한 인정해야 할 것이다. 이러한 中國의 선시를 受容한 한국 禪詩의 淵源을 이해하기 위해서는 禪 文學의 意味·槪念·範圍·方法論·歷史 등 다양한 분야에서 살피고 이해할 필요가 있다. 이 중 본고에서는 禪詩의 槪念 및 韓國의 禪詩의 발달 경로에 대해 고찰하였다. 禪詩의 槪念을 통해 禪과 詩의 그 相關性을 밝혔다. 詩의 相關關係로 禪의 槪念이 文字를 떠나[不立文字] 오직 마음과 마음에 의한 전수방법[以心傳心]에서 나온 것이라면, 人間과 自我와 그 觀照에 있어서 경이의 세계를 詩的인 靈感을 통하여 표현하는 것이 바로 禪詩이므로 相好發生論的으로 相關關係가 있음을 선시 개념에서 알 수 있었다. 또한 韓國 禪詩가 中國 禪詩를 어떻게 受容하여 發展되어 졌는가를 禪詩 發達史的 側面에서 考察하였다. 禪詩은 바로 中國的인 文化와 歷史的 背景을 바탕으로 하여 일어난 매우 뛰어난 文學思想이라 할 수 있다. 이러한 중국의 禪詩가 中唐·晩唐에 접어들어 크게 성함을 보였고, 韓國 高麗때 慧諶이 본격적으로 受容하여 朝鮮 後期 마지막 인물로 艸衣 意恂이 등장하여 韓國 禪詩의 脈을 잇고 있음을 밝혀 냈다. 本考의 남는 과제로는 이러한 禪詩史의 産物인 高格한 禪詩作品의 世界를 後考의 課題로 期約한다.

After the establishment of Zen Buddism in China, many unique literatures were generated and literature was widely flourished. The most important field of such Zen Literate is Zen Poery. just as the Zen of Buddhism was originated in India, it is certain that origin of Zen Poetry was derived from india. However, we should acknowledge that the real development of Zen Poetry was made in China. in order to understand the origin of korea Zen Poetry, accepting the Zen Poetry of China, we need to investigate the meaning, concept, scope, methodology and history of Zen Literature in various field. Among them, this thesis investigated the concept of Zen Poetry and the development channel of Korea Zen Poetry. As mentioned above, the issue of the subject in korean Zen poetry was clarified according to the introduction, and the history of developing Zen poetry was explained. we also searched that how Zen poetry has been developed in korea by accepting the chinese Zen poetry. The discussion of developing korean Zen poetry was done with the historical point. The Zen poetry could be said that it is very excellent conception in the literature occurred by chinese culture and historical background. The Zen poetry had been expended during mid and late Dang kingdom in china. The chinese Zen poetry was accepted to korea by the buddhist priest Haesim in Koryo period of the old korea . It is succeeded to the tradition of the korean poetry by the buddhist priest Choeui in Chosun period of the old korea. The realm of the nobel Zen poetry will also be studied in the future.
